Dr. Bristol has been on the faculty at the Family Medicine Residency since 2002. He is a graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his traditional rotating internship at Park Lane Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. and his family medicine residency at Firelands Regional Medical Center. He started his private practice in Sandusky in 2001. Dr. Bristol also serves as co-medical director for Stein Hospice, Inc.
Dr. Graham completed her family practice residency at Firelands Regional Medical Center and became certified in family practice in 2009. She then completed fellowships in geriatrics and HPM at Summa Akron City Hospital with certification in both in 2011. She began working for Stein Hospice in 2013 and is teaching faculty for the HPM Fellowship. Dr. Graham, her husband, Zachary, and daughter live in Sandusky where her husband practices law.
Dr. Ketvertis has been on the faculty at the Family Medicine Residency since 2005. She is a graduate of University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center — St. Margaret in Pittsburgh, Pa. She and her family moved to Sandusky in 2005, where she is employed by NOMS. Dr. Ketvertis has a particular interest in women's health.
Dr. Mast was appointed Director of Medical Education (DME) in January 2009 and has been the family medicine residency director since 2003. A graduate of Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine, he first came to Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1991 as a third-year medical student. Upon graduation, he completed a rotating internship at Firelands and family medicine residency at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Mich. He and his family returned to Sandusky in 1996, when he started his private practice.
Dr. Perez joined the faculty at the family medicine residency in 2011. He is a graduate of Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at Firelands Regional Medical Center, and was named the resident of the year by the Ohio American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) in 2011. He currently resides in Sandusky, Ohio.
Dr. Pfleghaar completed his medical education at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and his residency at Firelands Regional Medical Center where he was chief resident. He currently serves as faculty at Firelands Regional Medical Center for rural medicine and occupational medicine. Dr. Pfleghaar currently serves as President of the Northwest Ohio Osteopathic Association. Dr. Pfleghaar’s hobbies include wakesurfing, skiing, and traveling.
Dr. Preston was appointed in July 1997 by Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OUHCOM) as Assistant Dean, Clinical Affairs, NW CORE, and served as the DME at Firelands Regional Medical Center from 1991 to 2008. A graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, Dr. Preston came to Sandusky because of the excellent reputation of its medical education program. He and his family quickly fell in love with the Lake Erie area and decided to establish a family medicine practice here in 1981. Active in local, state and national osteopathic education, Dr. Preston became the President of the Association of Osteopathic Directors and Medical Educators in 1997. Dr. Preston began working in hospice in 2004. He became certified in hospice and palliative medicine in 2010. In coordination with Firelands Regional Medical Center and Stein Hospice Services Inc., Dr. Preston developed an AOA-accredited fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is its program director. Dr. Preston and his wife, Kathy, make their home in Sandusky.
Dr. Ramey has been a member of the faculty at the family medicine residency since 2007. He is a graduate of Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at Firelands Regional Medical Center. He serves as the director for the Kelleys Island clinic, and he is also the medical director at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. Dr. Ramey is also the 2012–2013 president of the Ohio Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Robinson is certified in family practice. He was given the Arnold P. Gold Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award in 2006. He began his private family practice in Sandusky in 2008, and then began full-time with Stein Hospice in 2010. He achieved his certification in HPM in 2011. He is teaching faculty of the Firelands Regional Medical Center/Stein HPM Fellowship. Dr Robinson, his wife, Emily, and four children live in Sandusky.
Dr. Vaschak is a graduate of Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduation, he completed a traditional rotating internship at Doctors Hospital of Stark County in Massillon, Ohio, and an internal medicine residency at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. At Akron General, he served as chief resident and president of the house staff. He and his family moved to the area in 1993 to start his private practice. Dr. Vaschak is the recipient of many teaching awards and is dedicated to the development of unique and innovative methods of medical education.
