Firelands Regional Medical Center Hires New Chief Nursing Officer

Firelands Regional Medical Center is happy to announce that Denise Parrish, RN, BSN, MSN, NE-BC, has accepted the position of Vice President, Patient Care Services & Chief Nursing Officer. This position was previously held by Beverly Schrickel, RN, who is retiring after 40 years with Firelands Regional Medical Center.

A resident of Wisconsin, Parrish has 21 years of extensive experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting. She previously worked for Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, Wisconsin where she held a variety of positions, most recently serving as Chief Administrative Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services.

“Denise has a diverse background that made her an excellent fit for this position,” stated Jeremy Normington-Slay, president and CEO of Firelands Regional Medical Center. “As we welcome Denise to the team, I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Bev for her tireless dedication to Firelands during her tenure.”

Parrish will officially join the Firelands team on July 8.  In her new position, Denise will have overall responsibility and accountability for the direction and operation of major nursing functions and a variety of ancillary departments.

“My entire family and I are very excited to come to Firelands,” she said. “I know that I have big shoes to fill with Bev’s retirement and she has set a high bar of excellence to maintain.  My passion is nursing, and I plan to continue to drive forward the exceptional patient care expected at Firelands for those in the community we serve while also building on a positive working environment.”
