Firelands welcomes orthopedic surgeon

(Sandusky, Ohio) Kevin Bailey, D.O., recently joined the Firelands Physician Group Sandusky Orthopedics team of Colleen Calvey, M.D., Robert Carlisle II M.D., Justin Kelley, D.O. and Thomas Olexa, M.D. Dr. Bailey is a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon with an interest in helping athletes of all ages with sports-related injuries. He specializes in injuries of the shoulder, hip and knee as well as general orthopedic concerns.

"I was active in sports throughout childhood and exposed to orthopedics through my sports-related injuries. I began my undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering. When I was about halfway through my studies, I realized that medicine was my calling and started fulfilling the pre-medicine requirements," said Dr. Bailey. "I returned to Ohio for medical school and to complete my residency. I am happy to be ‘planting my roots’ in Ohio." Dr. Bailey’s hobbies include running, biking, golfing and spending time outdoors.

Dr. Bailey earned his doctor of osteopathic medicine at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, South Pointe Hospital. Dr. Bailey completed an orthopedic surgery sports medicine fellowship at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
