Firelands names new pharmacy director

Firelands Health Pharmacy Director Keith

(Sandusky, Ohio) Keith Posendek was promoted to pharmacy director at Firelands Health. "We are excited to welcome Keith. He has a rich background in pharmacy services and healthcare leadership," said Vice President of Operations Jim Spicer. Keith oversees in- and outpatient pharmacy operations and the pharmacy residency program. Keith has served as clinical pharmacy coordinator since March 2023. Keith joined the medical center with a doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Findlay, completion of a pharmacy practice residency at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital and is board-certified in pharmacotherapy, geriatrics and cardiology.

Keith has several years of experience in clinical pharmacy specialist roles and various support staff roles. He is also active in several state and national pharmacy organizations, including: the American Society of Heath-System Pharmacists, the Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacy and the Ohio College of Clinical Pharmacy. "I am eager, excited and grateful to be able to continue to serve the needs of the pharmacy department, Firelands Health and most importantly, our patients," Keith said. "A message that has resonated with me since my first day is our motto – ‘big enough to care for you, small enough to care about you.’ Everyone at Firelands shows me how much a person can care about their patients, coworkers and community every day, and that is really inspiring."

When he’s not at work, Keith enjoys spending time with his wife, family and friends. He is a fan of Cleveland sports and the Columbus Crew.
