Imad Asaad, M.D., is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Firelands Physician Group with particular expertise in evaluating and managing patients with chronic liver diseases, including viral hepatitis, fatty liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, and metabolic liver diseases. He has written multiple peer-reviewed articles and abstracts, especially on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.Before joining Firelands Health, Dr. Asaad was an assistant professor of Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He was recognized for building the Cleveland Clinic Hepatology Program in the west region. Before that, he led the Liver Clinic at MetroHealth Medical Center.Dr. Asaad completed his internal medicine residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West in New York, New York. He completed his transplant hepatology fellowship at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, then his gastroenterology fellowship at Case Western Reserve University/MetroHealth in Cleveland, Ohio.He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the European Association for the Study of the Liver and the American College of Gastroenterology.
