Outpatient Infusion Center
Patients undergo infusion therapy for many reasons. The Firelands Outpatient Infusion Center includes a team of nurses, pharmacists, and support staff experienced in administering non-emergent outpatient services, including intravenous therapy, injections, blood transfusions, dressing changes, wound care, and other therapies. Located in the Professional Center I Building on the main campus, this center combines the most advanced infusion medications and techniques.
Specific therapies may include the following types of medications and services:
- Antibiotics/antifungals/antivirals
- Chemotherapy/immunotherapy
- Hydration
- Parenteral nutrition
- Blood transfusions
- Therapeutic phlebotomies
- Beneath the skin and intramuscular injections
- Port draws and line flushes
- Wound care
Infusion therapy may be used to treat conditions and diseases such as:
- Infections that are unresponsive to oral antibiotics
- Dehydration
- Crohn’s disease
- Hemophilia
- Immune deficiencies
- Multiple sclerosis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
