Pediatricians in Sandusky, Ohio and nearby
Our pediatrics practice has achieved Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home status with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). This means we provide a healthcare setting designed to improve care coordination between patients, their primary care physicians and, when appropriate, the patients’ families.
Just like it’s important for adults to have a primary care physician, it’s crucial that babies have a pediatrician from the moment they enter this world. That’s why our Firelands Physician Group pediatrician is here for your child from infancy to young adulthood.
Children deserve a special focus and attention because they have unique health needs. Consider some of those differences, for example, how your child metabolizes medications differently than you do; how they require different treatments for health problems or an altered approach to surgical techniques, or even how they seek mental, emotional and physical care. It takes a doctor focused solely on the physical, emotional and social health of children from birth to young adulthood to address these differences.
Pediatric care covers a broad spectrum of health services, from preventive healthcare to diagnosing and treating acute and chronic diseases. And it’s not just physical health a pediatrician is concerned with – they also deal with biological, social and environmental influences on developing children.
