Virtual visits
Firelands Physician Group is proud to offer their established patients a virtual visit option for appropriate health concerns when a traditional office visit may not be possible. A virtual visit is a way to connect to your provider remotely via video and audio on your smartphone or your computer. Virtual visits may be scheduled by contacting your Firelands Physician Group provider and navigating the next steps with our care team. Not all health concerns are appropriate for this format, and our care teams are here to assist you in navigating the availability of a virtual visit.
What happens after I schedule a visit?
When your virtual visit is scheduled, you can expect the following:
- You will receive a confirmation of the appointment via both email and text messages.
- On the day of your appointment, you will click the link in your email or text message to initiate the connection and start the visit.
- Upon completing your system compatibility check and any required intake questions, you will be placed in a virtual waiting room. At this time, your provider is notified that you are ready and waiting for your visit to start.
- A video and audio connection will start when your provider joins the visit. You will see your provider in the video chat window.
- Your provider will perform the usual assessments and observations as they would in a traditional visit but modify slightly where necessary. Your treatment plan will follow virtual visit protocols established for safety and quality standards.
- Our billing process for a visit will be completed the same as for a traditional visit.
- If you have any technical difficulties, you should contact your provider's office directly to navigate available options.
